Your supplier’s location, cargo size and final delivery address determine the collection and port options. Use the route brief to identify what the supplier handles and what you want included in the freight offer.
Ready cargo or an import budget?
Cargo ready to move: send the collection location, goods, packing, approximate weight or volume, and ready date. Identify the receiving port or final Indian address.
Planning the whole import: include the supplier’s offer, purchase terms and product details. Ask for a breakdown of transport, clearance, destination charges and the basis for any duty and tax estimate. Identify goods value separately from logistics costs.
Both tasks start with the same short form. Select the type of enquiry so the response addresses the decision you need to make.
Match the arrival port to the delivery location
Nhava Sheva/JNPA and Mundra are gateways to consider for western India. Chennai is another option to compare for a southern delivery. Compare the complete movement to the destination rather than the sea leg alone.
JNPA is in Navi Mumbai and was formerly known as Nhava Sheva Port. These names should not be treated as separate destinations when comparing offers. JNPA’s official port description.
Check the product before you commit
Indian import requirements depend on the product and importer. Confirm classification, import policy and product standards before shipping. Review the BIS compulsory-certification lists where relevant.

A quote with clear responsibilities
Ask for named collection and delivery points, equipment or consolidation scope, inclusions, exclusions, currency and validity. Separate estimated sailing time from customs release and final delivery. Confirm the offered schedule and terms before booking.
