Where is your cargo coming from?
Ready to ship or planning the purchase?
Ready cargo: request transport with your supplier location, packing, ready date and discharge port. For China-origin goods, open the dedicated route page for the collection and export service.
Identified goods, budget first: send the supplier’s offer and purchase terms. Build the budget from freight to the named port plus the destination costs obtained from your South African importer or receiving agent.
No supplier yet: sourcing in China starts with a product specification and target quantity. It is a separate enquiry from transporting goods you have already purchased.
Give the destination enough detail
Name Durban, Cape Town, Ngqura or your intended receiving port. If you have not chosen a port, include the final receiving city and ask which discharge port the freight offer uses. Port arrival, customs release and delivery to your premises are separate milestones.
Tell us who will receive the cargo in South Africa and whether an importer and customs agent are already appointed. This helps keep the quote and the receiving arrangements aligned.
A short brief is enough to start
Your email, origin, destination and description of the goods are enough for the first message. Add packed volume or weight and the ready date if known. You can provide the packing list and supplier documents in follow-up.
Use the planner below to calculate identical-package volume. For China shipments, see shipping from China to South Africa.
